9. LET’S GET IT STARTED – BLACK EYED PEAS
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKqV7DB8Iwg
We all may be familiar with The Black Eyed Peas today, but the pop-rap group had released two albums before their third, Elephunk, rocketed through the charts in 2003 and turned them into megastars!
The group has scooped dozens of awards and nominations over the years, including a 2005 Grammy nomination for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for our No.9 song, Let’s Get It Started, which they won. This was a clear sign that The Black Eyed Peas were indeed ready to get it started… just like us, when we listen to this song to get ready to play online bingo!
8. DON’T STOP ME NOW – QUEEN
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgzGwKwLmgM
Are there even words to describe this rock-group sensation? Queen has charmed their way into the ears, hearts, and minds of millions of fans, both young and old, across the world.
Originally the 12th track from their 1978 album Jazz, Don’t Stop Me Now was later released as a single in 1979 and peaked at No.9 in the UK Singles Chart of the Official Charts Company in the same year.
This song undoubtedly captures the feeling that nothing can stop you when you’re on a roll!
7. U CAN’T TOUCH THIS – MC HAMMER
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otCpCn0l4Wo
While there’s no doubt that none of MC Hammer’s other work reached the popularity of his hit song U Can’t Touch This, and this may make him a one-hit wonder, we need to face the facts: you can’t touch this! Jokes aside, this song was not released as a single initially, which helped MC Hammer sell 18 million copies of the 1990 album, Please Hammer, Don’t Hurt ‘Em, and had MC Hammer smiling all the way to the bank.
This pop-rap song has an incredibly catchy beat, and just like our No.9 entry, represents that feeling you get when everything seems to so naturally fall into place.
6. THE BEST – TINA TURNER
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GC5E8ie2pdM
Once known as the “Queen of Rock ’n’ Roll” (which is unsurprising considering the number of awards she’s been nominated for and won), Tina Turner has had a long career filled with ups and downs, but there’s no doubt that she retains a special place in the hearts of many music lovers to this day. Her hit The Best is actually a cover of a song by Bonnie Tyler, but Tina added a certain magic that helped turn it into the mega-hit it is today.
While The Best (often misquoted as “Simply The Best”) may not be the best “hype” song on our list, it perfectly captures our love affair with bingo, and gets us excited for our next game!
5. REMEMBER THE NAME – FORT MINOR
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDvr08sCPOc
Warning: this song contains the odd swear word here and there.
Despite the presence of Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park, Fort Minor is definitely not as mainstream as many of the other singers and bands that we’ve had on this list so far. In fact, they’ve only released one studio album, The Rising Tied in 2005, despite having been well-received by music fans and critics alike.
While this song from the hip hop/rock group may be about the group itself, the beat can’t help you but get under your skin in all the right ways.
4. TUBTHUMPING – CHUMBAWAMBA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1njIckENbRA
This song is so popular it’s known by a completely different name. Tubthumping – or as it’s more commonly known “I Get Knocked Down” – from rock band Chumbawamba, was a No.1 hit in many weekly charts across the world, including Australia, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Scotland, and the US.
While Chumbawamba have numerous albums under their belts during their two decades of music making, most people know them for this song, and the band might be considered a one-hit wonder by some.
There’s no doubt that bingo can sometimes be fickle and luck might not always be on your side, which is why it’s great to listen to this song to raise your spirits!
3. RISE – FT. THE GLITCH MOB, MAKO & THE WORD ALIVE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fB8TyLTD7EE
If you’re an online gamer who enjoys all sorts of games in addition to bingo, you may have heard this incredibly hyped song Rise. This musical piece is a collaboration from The Glitch Mob, Mako, and The Word Alive for video-game company Riot Games.
Riot Games, the producer of hit online action strategy game League of Legends, is no stranger to creating great music, and has also worked with US pop-rock band Imagine Dragons in the past. While Rise hasn’t been released as a single or part of a studio album (unlike another Riot Games-produced hit Pop/Stars by virtual K-Pop group K/DA), it has notched up more than 263 million views on YouTube.
This song is all about facing your challenges and succeeding, and is set to an incredible rising (pun intended) tempo and beat that can’t help but get your blood pumping – and you ready for (virtual daubing) action!
2. ’TILL I COLLAPSE – EMINEM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Obim8BYGnOE
Another song on our list that contains a few naughty words, just in case that’s not your thing.
Rap icon Eminem may have been classified as “just another white rapper” destined to fail by some when he first appeared on the scene, but he’s been producing hits for almost his entire career. He’s clearly shown his critics that, whether you like him or not, the man has got some incredible musical talent.
It’s only fitting that the No.2 song on our list is ’Till I Collapse, a song about never giving up that’s been played more than a billion times on Spotify. It’s undoubtedly a tune that’ll get you revved up for your next bingo adventure!
1. EYE OF THE TIGER – SURVIVOR
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btPJPFnesV4
From the moment the first beats drop, you know exactly what song is about to play. Eye Of The Tiger may make Survivor a one-hit wonder, but it’s a classic song that has become a part of our popular culture. Something most people may not know: this hit was recorded for Rocky III after Sylvester Stallone wasn’t allowed to use Another One Bites The Dust by Queen.
We’d love to be able to say Queen’s loss is our gain, but it’s not like they needed to add a soundtrack credit to their list of musical accomplishments. But all that aside, we’re glad Queen turned Sly down, because if they hadn’t we wouldn’t have this classic as No.1 on our list. We reckon it’s the ultimate song to get you primed for some thrilling gaming!
